"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storms shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." -Helaman 5:12
This scripture has always been a favorite of mine. I believe 1000% that if we have a strong foundation, if we rely on and look to Christ, and if we stay strong in the gospel... we will not fall! It doesn't mean that we won't have trials and be tempted if we are doing everything we should... those things are just a part of life. But having a strong foundation will make those things a heck of a whole lot easier :) We do not have to be strong on our own. We are not put on this earth to get through things alone. We simply are just not alone. We have a Savior, Jesus Christ who loves us and cares for us. We also have a merciful and loving Father in Heaven who is with us always. He wants us to succeed! We also have many many others such as: family members, friends, YW/YM leaders, church leaders, the bishop, the prophet and apostles, etc. who love us and are cheering us on as well. We even have others beyond the veil watching over us. With this great of a support system and the gospel, The devil "shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo..." We have a body of flesh and bones, the devil does not. We who are embodied have power over the UNembodied. He CAN NOT tempt us and he CAN NOT discourage us unless we let him. We have power over him, simple as that! Since these Motivation Mondays are meant to be short and sweet, I will just end with a couple quotes (of course:)) "No one has failed who keeps trying and keeps praying." -Jeffrey R. Holland "We can do hard things." -Elaine S. Dalton "All men have fears, but those who face their fears with dignity have courage as well." -Thomas S. Monson "I've had to evict some thoughts a hundred times before they would stay out. I have never been successful until I have put something edifying in their place." - Boyd K. Packer I hope you guys have a great Monday and a great week! <3 Ness

I always find myself struggling on trying to find just the right things to write about for my Sunday posts. I don't know what it is, sometimes I just can't find the inspiration. But oh no, not today!
It all started in Sunday School. The words that stood out to me that were written on the chalkboard were, "Christ wins. Satan loses." 4 words that are so powerful and will always be true. Someone commented in class and shared a great quote by Jeffrey R. Holland. He said... “The FUTURE of this world has long been DECLARED; the final outcome between GOOD and evil is already KNOWN. There is absolutely no question as to who WINS because the VICTORY has already been posted on the SCOREBOARD. The only really strange thing is all of this is that we are still down here on the FIELD trying to decide which TEAM’S JERSEY we want to wear!” I just got thinking, "Wow!" like Satan will never, ever win. Sure, there have been times where people have been caught in his traps and snares for just a little bit, but they can come back. They just have to grab onto Christ's arm who is reaching out to rescue us. He loves us. And then Young Women's came along. Sister Bertele I love you girl! Your lesson was spot on. We watched a video that really brought the spirit. Here's the link... Click and check it out! https://youtu.be/fycvkAhYz1I After the video, each of us young women were handed a candle. Once the first candle was lit, we began to pass it on lighting each other's candles in the pitch dark room. These candles represented the Light of Christ. We all were born with the Light of Christ. It is an influence to do good. The natural man wouldn't be one to help an elderly person cross the street, or wrap their arms around a burdened down person, or smile and wave to a stranger, etc. Those are examples of the Light of Christ in us. Each of us felt the spirit in that room. Many of the girls had tears down their face. Not only did we see the light in our candles, we could see and feel the Light of Christ. It is real and it is there. There may have or will be times when we will be blinded by the darkness and we will for a moment fail to see the light. It happens, but that is a part of life. But guess what, there's hope guys! It's in Christ. Light will always penetrate the darkness. The darkness cannot succeed. I hope you guys are having a beautiful Sunday. Remember to be a light this week and pass it on. You could influence so many. <3 Ness The dictionary definition of Fear says: An unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. Synonyms: Terror, fright, horror, alarm, panic, distress, etc. No one likes those feelings, but why do we have them? 2 Nephi 2:27 says : "Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself." Satan is the creator of these emotions. We need to recognize that those feelings do not come from Jesus Christ or Heavenly Father. Christ brings peace which is the total opposite. We must never mistake the 2. The link below is a Mormon Message called: Men's hearts shall fail them. If you've seen it already, that's okay watch it again! :) If you haven't click away and watch. It is one of my favorites! https://youtu.be/EMwKxmTLaCs I love how Russell M. Nelson said that, "If you've got faith, you can handle difficulties. With an eternal perspective, all will be well. Be patient with yourself, perfection comes not in this life but in the next life. Let the Lord help you." My mom has a quote hung up in her bathroom that says "The scriptures tell us to not fear 365 times, that is a daily reminder from God to live everyday without fear."
Scroll a little more to see the new Ponderize of The Week! Omni 1: 26 "And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved." Lately I've been thinking a lot about temples and why they are so important. One day in particular was when I got a little glimpse of why. Back in May I was able to go to the Payson temple open house. During that time I was in a really dark place (If you read my Motivation Monday: Trials and struggles I talked a little bit about it there.) Mentally I wasn't really all there, as I was trying to push through this certain trial. That also crippled my spiritual state. I was eager and excited to attend the open house hoping that I would receive the spiritual lift I desperately wanted but most of all needed. Exiting the freeway, you could see the temple plain as day. I can't exactly put into words what I felt but I just KNEW i was meant to walk into that temple that day. Despite the gloominess around it, the temple had its own glow to it. It shown brightly on a particular dark and dreary day. So we( My mom and my older brother) parked, got out of the car, and noticed that we had some time to spare before we were able to walk to the nearby church and watch the video they have set up before walking through. We walked around the grounds and snapped a few pics of the flowers and all kinds of different angles of the temple. I stopped and looked up to the very top of the temple where the angel Moroni was standing and observed the sky as a little black bird flew across and thought "Are you really there? How long is this going to last? Why can't this end already?" being a little bitter I just walked around- waiting and hoping for an answer. It didn't come. Yet.
Our spare time was up and my phone said 2:00pm so we headed over to the church just several feet away. We gave the door greeters our ticket and went into one of the rooms, sat down, and watched as people piled in. 2 sister missionaries waited quietly until everyone was ready to start. I don't remember exactly what the video said but I remember little bits and pieces of several apostles talking about the importance of temples and all the close opportunities that we have to go to the temple with so many surrounding us in Utah. I was able to snap my brain out of the bitterness and thought of how lucky I was to be able to walk through the Payson temple that day. Very few people get to experience that. I stopped thinking of all the things going wrong and began thinking of things that were going right. I simply counted my blessings. Walking through was just the best thing ever. I really began to actually feel my Heavenly Father's love for me, my family, and every one of his children. If I thought he didn't love me, why would he make such beautiful temples just for us? The adversary tries to sneak in that way telling us lies and deceiving us. That's what Satan does best. He deceives. He lies. He has no good to offer us. I thanked Heavenly Father for that opportunity and apologized for my bitterness. Temples are an amazing blessing. Making covenants with God in them is the most beautiful thing. Ever since I was little, I dreamed of being able to go through the temple with my future husband. I plan on fulfilling that. I couldn't imagine being married in any other place than that. I am so grateful for the help of my Heavenly Father and my Savior for pulling me out of that dark place and helping me TRULY see and notice the light at the end of the tunnel. I couldn't have done it without them. No doubt about it. All I had to do was reach up, and they took my hand and refused to let me fall. Happy Sunday everyone. Have an amazing week. Count your blessings. God loves you. Amen. The dictionary definition of happiness says: Pleasure, contentment, satisfaction, cheerfulness, joy, glee, delight. It seems so simple yet in reality, is so hard to TRULY find. I am nowhere close to being an expert at these 'Motivation Mondays' and my real purpose and goal in these is to share my testimony on what I have personally experienced. I will never share anything fake or put on a facade. We are all human. Finding happiness hasn't always been easy for me. About 4-5 months ago was when I struggled to even comprehend what that word was. I thought it was nearly impossible. Being clinically diagnosed with depression was the hardest thing I had faced up until that point. Now, how can i talk about happiness when I myself was diagnosed with quite the opposite? I truly began to understand the meaning of the word when I let Christ into my life. I know the atonement works you guys. It is real. I am so grateful for it. No matter where you're at in life right now, it is still possible to find happiness. It can be different for everyone but what I found to help me was to count my blessings. Henry B. Eyring said the most powerful thing "You hold in your hands the happiness of more people than you can imagine." How true that is. I also love this quote below by Sister Hinckley. She was just the cutest little lady. I know that if you pray with all you have and truly pour your little heart out to ask how you can truly find happiness, He will tell you through the Holy Ghost. You just have to be open to the spirit and He will help you. I promise. Have a fab Monday and a fab upcoming week <3

Ponderize Of The Week:
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." - James 1:5-6 Quote Of The Week:
"Give it to God and go to sleep." - Unknown |
